TickerTrust vs Morningstar

Last checked: October 16, 2026. Competitor facts come from each product's own public pages.

Morningstar Investor is built around Morningstar’s Fair Value Estimate, star rating and economic moat rating. TickerTrust is a signal intelligence platform. The useful question is whether you’re valuing a business or reading what informed money is doing with it.

What Morningstar is great at

Morningstar Investor lists a Fair Value Estimate, a star rating that compares price with fair value and adjusts for uncertainty, an economic moat rating of wide, narrow or none, Portfolio X-Ray and Stock Intersection tools, pre-filtered stock lists, and independent analyst coverage. It costs $249 a year or $34.95 a month, with a 7-day free trial, and its page says the rate may change without notice. If you value businesses against a fair value estimate, Morningstar is built for that and we don’t attempt it.

What TickerTrust does that Morningstar doesn't

TickerTrust scores each symbol from 0 to 100 on the pillars that fit the asset: five for stocks, six for ETFs and four for crypto. Each pillar is shown, and a pillar with no data is left out of the score. TrustAI explains the score in plain English, and you can alert on it, paper trade it and backtest it in the same session. Developers can use our documented REST API.

Which one fits your job

Want a fair value estimate and a moat rating for each company? Morningstar. Want a score whose pillars you can see, with a paper account and backtesting in the same place? TickerTrust. Plenty of investors keep both.
